The Victor Paul Salon – Orange County’s Style Oasis

The go-to hair and make-up guy for Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County, Victor Paul, has over two and a half decades of experience making women look beautiful. Now, he’s co-owner of the new Victor Paul Salon in Costa Mesa, California, where he specializes in hair styling and color for the women (and yes, even the men) of the O.C.

The newly debuted Victor Paul Salon features 17 styling stations, a color processing room, facial facilities and a spacious retail area, which includes accessories, hair and skin care as well as make up and handbags by Gretchen Rossi, from Bravo’s Real Housewives of Orange County. The contemporary exterior of the convenient stand-alone facility located on Baker Street flaunts an eco-chic slate gray hue with a spectrum of vibrant green striping. Inside, a sense of warmth takes over with delicate shades on the walls, an industrial flavor to the flooring and lots of airy natural sunlight. The cabinetry and stylist stations are made of a dark bamboo-inspired wood, which has a unique almost striped texture, and with minor exception, the artwork adorning the walls is by artist and reality TV personality, Slade Smiley, from Bravo’s Real Housewives of Orange County.

As far as the inspiration and conceptualizing for the salon, Victor Paul and his partner of 20 years, Robert Fox, decided to go for a friendly, upscale, and elegant atmosphere, but with a modern twist. They felt that the etched and stained cement flooring offered an edgy, industrial vibe and grounded the look of the interior. Large mirrors at each station visually added to the vastness of space while the natural daylight-filled room was accented with splashes of warm lighting. Lightly hued walls completed the airiness while large pieces of artwork impart gallery-esc elegance.
